UCLA post-practice report
The only injury I can report was the bee sting to my hand. Mega pain, but I’m OK now.
UCLA coach Jim Mora, who hails from the NFL, is starting to crack down on injury reports and such from practice. You can tell it’s game week, eh?
Asked how Brett Hundley is doing, Mora said “fine.”
Asked if he’s decided which coaches will be in the pressbox and which are on the field, he just said “yes.”
It’s the NFL in him.
Players practiced today since UCLA opens the season Thursday at Rice in Houston. So today was like a Tuesday.
Brett Hundley said he’s not nervous yet, but he’s sure he’ll that fire in him come game time on Thursday.
Videos to come.
Exclusive video of the Rose Bowl renovation
Go behind the scenes on an exclusive tour of the Rose Bowl renovation with me! The video is from Aug. 3, so sorry it’s taken a while to put together, but nonetheless I think it’s a cool insiders view of the work that’s being done on the pavilion.
I’m sure a lot more work has been done over the last 12 days — considering there are nearly 300 workers trying to get this done by UCLA’s home opener Sept. 8 vs. Nebraska. Watch the video above and read my story on the renovation.
Justin Dior Combs overcomes bad rap
Here’s a column I wrote on Justin Combs – the son of rap mogul Sean ”Diddy” Combs. Impressed with his attitude and work ethic and the way he handled national criticism over his athletic scholarship at UCLA. Read here.
Dream day in Westwood for Uganda coaches
Making a cameo on the blog for what I think is a worthy tribute to John Wooden. Four coaches from Uganda were at UCLA yesterday, and they’ll be here today, to soak in all things Wooden. They are using his principles to help kids who are in desperate need of it. The power of Wooden reaches all corners of the world.
