2015 San Bernardino County Clash Weekend No. 2 Preview

San Manuel Stadium in San Bernardino serves as the host of the County Clash that host a series of games of a span of four weeks. The games below are for the second weekend of the 2015 County Clash series which take place on April 4.

Game 1: San Gorgonio (10-3, 1-1) vs. Jurupa Hills (9-3, 2-0), 1 p.m.

The battle of two Spartan mascot schools open the series second weekend of game. The San Gorgonio Spartans enter the game on a 5-game winning streak following its victory over the Arroyo Valley Hawks, 10-3, at home Wednesday. The other four games in this streak were during the Grand Terrace Tournament which lead to the tournament’s title.

Jurupa Hills enters the game on an 8-game winning streak, which includes a handful of the victories from the Chino
Preseason Tournament. JHS’s most recent victory was against San Andreas League-rival Rim of the World, who had handed San G its most recent loss, 8-1.

Game 2: Bloomington (8-5, 1-2) vs. Colton (7-6, 2-1), 4 p.m.

In the second game of the day, the Bloomington Bruins enter the game with a victory over Fontana High to snap a 2-game losing streak against Sunkist League opponents.

The Yellowjackets enters the game with a similar situation as the Bruins, winning its most recent game against Sunkist League opponent Grand Terrace Titans following a pair of tournament losses. One of the two losses was against Grand Terrace.

Game 3: Yucaipa (7-6, 0-1) vs. Carter (10-4, 1-0), 7 p.m.

The Thunderbird’s will have a chance to avenge Tuesday’s Citrus Belt League opening loss, 4-0, at home against the Lions in the third game of the night at San Manuel Stadium. Prior to the game against Carter, the Thunderbirds played in the Horizon National Classic (Arizona) in which they won three of five games they played.

The Lions enter the game on a 5-game winning streak including the win over the Thunderbirds and a nonleague doubleheader sweep of Rialto.
