Queen Mickie is on “Off-Ramp”

Dear Readers,

It can be sooo stressful constantly being in demand for one’s wit and wisdom, but today it was tempered by the most charming of interviewers.

John Rabe, host of KPCC’s “Off-Ramp,” called to chat with me about what it’s like to be Doo Dah Royalty and what tips I have for potential queens.

You can listen to our tete-a-tete on “Off-Ramp” on the air at 89.3 FM noon Saturday, Jan. 16 and 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17. If you’re too excited to wait for the weekend, you can download it online at:

http://www.scpr.org/programs/offramp/2010/01/16/reign-on-my-parade-or-how-to-be-the-next-doo-dah-q/

Just as I ask you to support the arts, I ask that you also support radio. Check John Rabe’s “Off-Ramp,” as well as the other shows on KPCC~ you may just find something new to enjoy!

Now, carry on, as you were,

Queen Naughty Mickie

John Rabe of Off-Ramp seeks Doo Dah Royal wisdom

I still receive many requests from Doo Dah and royalty fans and I try to accomodate as many as possible and some are very, very irrestible. Such is the case with this morning’s e-mail from John Rabe, host of KPCC’s “Off-Ramp.”

With Doo Dah queen tryouts being announced for February, he wanted an inside scoop on what it’s like to be the queen and what a queen should do, so of course John contacted someone with experience– me!

Get the first taste of my tete-a-tete with the charming man behind the mic on his blog at:

John plans to follow up our written exchange with an interview on Monday. I will let you know when you can tune in or stream it later.

For now, carry on, as you were,

Queen Naughty Mickie
