Nine Dodgers players become free agents, including Kenley Jansen and Justin Turner.

Kenley Jansen and Justin Turner are free agents as of today, along with seven other Dodgers whose contracts expired the day after the World Series: Rich Hill, Joe Blanton, Chase Utley, Josh Reddick, J.P. Howell, Brett Anderson and Jesse Chavez.

A total of 139 players became free agents around MLB. That does not include Dodgers catcher Carlos Ruiz; the club has until Monday to exercise his 2017 contract option.

SAN DIEGO — The Dodgers announced their starting rotation for the final six games of the season:

Tuesday at San Diego: Kenta Maeda
Wednesday: Jose De Leon
Thursday: Julio Urias
Friday at San Francisco: Rich Hill
Saturday: Clayton Kershaw
Sunday: Maeda

Update (6:20 p.m.): Roberts said that Kershaw, Hill and Maeda will start Games 1, 2 and 3 of the National League Division Series against the Washington Nationals in that order. The starting assignment for Game 4 is to be determined. Maeda wanted two starts before the regular season ends, not one, which is why he’s starting tonight and not tomorrow.

Game 152: Yasiel Puig and the Dodgers push the Giants further to the brink.

Yasiel Puig and the Dodgers exorcised their demons against left-hander Matt Moore in a 9-3 win over the San Francisco Giants.

Veteran left-handers Brett Anderson and Scott Kazmir will have a chance to audition for a playoff start down the stretch.

Looking ahead to the postseason is only natural, writes columnist Jeff Miller, while the Dodgers take it one game at a time.

Brett Anderson will start Thursday against the Colorado Rockies.

Dodgers pitcher Brett Anderson will be activated from the 15-day disabled list Thursday and start that night’s game against the Colorado Rockies.

Anderson, sidelined by a finger blister most of September, pitched a rehab game last Friday for Triple-A Oklahoma City. The left-hander allowed three hits and one run in five innings against the El Paso Chihuahuas, walking no one and striking out five. With the exception of a solo home run, he was able to limit the hard contact he allowed.

Anderson has made two major league starts after missing almost five months recovering from back surgery. He is 0-2, having recorded 12 outs and allowed 11 runs (24.75 ERA) in the games against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds.

Last year, Anderson went 10-9 with a 3.69 ERA in 31 starts for the Dodgers.

The rotation for the remainder of the four-game series remains to be determined.

Alex Wood won’t be activated tonight after all.

In recent days, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said pitcher Alex Wood was on track to be activated from the disabled list today. Wood said himself that would be the case just this afternoon.

Then, a few minutes later, when Roberts addressed reporters in the third-base dugout, he dropped a surprise by saying Wood will be activated tomorrow instead.

“We decided to wait another day,” Roberts said. “He’ll be activated tomorrow. We have to make, obviously, a roster move, and we haven’t decided which direction we’re going to go.”
