Let's pretend for a minute that you're Mitch Kupchak. Which package of players would you consider acceptable to trade for Jermaine O'Neal? What would you feel comfortable giving up?
A) Brown and Bynum
B) Odom and Brown
C) Odom and Bynum
D) None of the above. Trade Kobe instead.
The Lakers today signed center Larry Turner, who played with their summer-league team. Turner is 6-foot-11 and averaged 5.8 points and 6.1 rebounds during his senior season at Tennessee State. Turner also averaged 7.4 points and 5.2 rebounds during the summer league in Las Vegas.
While at a charity basketball game in Los Angeles this weekend, Jermaine O'Neal told SI.com that he wants to be a Laker.
"I would welcome a trade to the Lakers," O'Neal told SI.com. "Indiana has given me the opportunity to establish myself as a really good player in this league, but they're into rebuilding and going really young, and I'm just not in a position physically to go through another five to six years with a lot of losses and a lot of down time."
The full story is available here. As a follow-up, O'Neal's agent, Arn Tellem, told The Associated Press that O'Neal hasn't requested a trade to the Lakers.
Looks like it's time to fire up those trade rumors again...
