Almont League — Alhambra senior Tiffany Chan defeated teammate, freshman Gaby Dondonay, to win her second consecutive Almont League individual championship. Both Chan and Dondonay advance to the CIF Southern Section Individual Tournament next week.

Jack, McKenzie sisters win Rio Hondo tennis titles

San Marino’s Devon Jack won her second consecutive Rio Hondo League singles title and Cassie McKenzie won her second consecutive league doubles title in the tournament played at Temple City’s Live Oak Park.
Jack defeated Katherine Wu of Temple City in the finals, 6-0, 6-0. In the semifinals, she defeated Molly Round of South Pasadena 6-0, 6-0. Wu defeated Sabrina Lieu of San Marino in the other semifinal.
McKenzie, who won the doubles title with sister Ally last year, won it with younger sister Sophie this year.
They defeated Madeleine Gandawidjaja and Libby Chang of San Marino, 6-3, 6-3. In the semifinals they defeated Emily Hsaio and Sophia Lee of San Marino 6-1, 6-0.

Pasadena Poly 18, Firebaugh 0 — The teams of Sami Collins and Tara Adarkar, Halle Krieger and Sophia Terrile and Mary Holt and Ashley Wu swept in doubles to lead the Panthers (7-7, 5-5) to the Prep League victory. Shalini Haupt and Audrey Wu swept in singles for Pasadena Poly.

Maranatha 3, Valley Christian 1 — Hannah Beckler had 13 kills and three blocks, Nicole Rodriguez added 31 digs and three aces and Emily Leung registered 31 assists and 13 digs for the Minutemen (18-10, 5-2) in a 25-14, 25-23, 15-25, 25-20 Olympic League win.

Pacific League Finals — Arcadia’s Michelle Deng swept in singles to place first at the Pacific League finals. The team of Angelica Zhou and Rachelle Yang of Arcadia placed first in doubles.
Olympic League Finals — Maranatha’s Hailey McNall swept in singles and placed first at the Olympic League finals. Angela Hsieh (Maranatha) placed second in singles and Natalie Orphali (Maranatha) placed third. The team of Natalie Yee and Sarah Rutzen won two in doubles for Maranatha in the finals.

Crescenta Valley 14, Arcadia 3 — Goalie Sebastian Petcu had six saves, Royal Gong scored twice and Thomas Gao scored a goal for the Apaches (13-10, 3-3) in a Pacific League loss.#
