Southern California brewers supporting Camp fire relief with Resilience Butte County Proud IPA

View this post on Instagram

Many of you have asked if we will be brewing a fundraiser beer to support #CampFire relief efforts. The answer is a resounding “yes.” We are proud to announce that we’ll be brewing Resilience Butte County Proud IPA and donating 100% of sales to Camp Fire relief. In addition, we are also asking every brewery in America to brew Resilience and do the same. I’m sending a letter to brewers across the country, inviting them to join us in a collaboration brew day on Tuesday, November 27. We are working with malt and hop suppliers to provide raw ingredient donations to all participating breweries and are asking those breweries to donate 100 percent of their sales, as well. We know that the rebuilding process will take time, but we’re in this for the long haul. Our hope is to get Resilience IPA in taprooms all over the country to create a solid start for our community’s future. Thank you to each and every one of you for your support. We’re right here with you and we’ll get through this together. ❤️Ken #ResilienceIPA #ButteCountyProud #ButteStrong – Ken

Dozens of Southern California brewers are helping Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. raise funds for Camp fire relief by brewing Resilience Butte County Proud IPA.

The Chico-based brewery — along with many other breweries — brewed the beer on Giving Tuesday (November 27) and will be donating 100% of sales of the finished product to the Camp Fire Relief Fund.

They’ve also asked every brewer in America to do the same.

Little Shop of Mary bahn mi pop-up Saturday at Scholb Brewing in Torrance

Tucked away in a tiny Torrance Boulevard storefront next to a laundromat and barber shop sits Little Shop of Mary, which makes incredible bahn mi sandwiches for just $7 apiece.

Quite often on Saturday I’ll stop by and take one with me to a local brewery — Strand and Smog City are five minutes away — because those Vietnamese sandwiches complement craft beer perfectly.

And I’m not alone in that belief.

Check it out Saturday at Scholb Brewing when they will have the lemongrass chicken, sesame beef and (a personal favorite) slow roasted pork.

You will never eat a Lee’s again.

Aptly-named Torrance brewery Smog City hosts Oct. 18 fundraiser “A Night Out for Clean Air”

Torrance’s Smog City Brewery sits smack dab next to the Torrance refinery and has had a front row seat as the plant literally belches and fumes, something that has occurred much more frequently of late.

So it’s not surprising the brewery is hosting a fundraiser to raise money to install air quality monitors (almost unbelievably there are none nearby).
