The colorful and ubiquitous mall and county fair food vendor known as Hot Dog on a Stick is escaping the food court.

Last summer, the chain opened its a small drive-thru in West Jordan, Utah, its first.

This summer, it’s opening its first California drive-thru…right here in the Inland Empire!

Inland Empire brewing scene continues to grow

The Inland Empire brewing scene continues to grow, with new breweries seemingly opening every week.

In addition to the recently-opened Donkey Punch Brewery and the currently-producing Ritual Brewing Co., both in Redlands, Sons of Liberty Aleworks opened in mid-September in Norco.

The brewery, at 1780 Town and Country Drive, Unit 101, is open noon to 4 p.m. Sunday; 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Friday; and 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday. It’s closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Five Guys targets the High Desert

I happened to do a check of Five Guys Burgers and Fries’ locations map earlier this week and discovered something.

In addition to previously-known planned locations in San Bernardino, Moreno Valley, Mira Loma and Corona, they’ve also listed two future restaurants in the High Desert.

One is in Victorville, at 15655 Roy Rogers Drive. The other is in Hesperia, at 12795 Main St.

Both are set to be open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Both are right off the 15 Freeway.

No word on a time frame for when they will open. Five Guys typically waits until restaurants’ opening days before announcing them via Twitter and Facebook.

Golden Corral is open

I’m hearing word that the Inland Empire’s only Golden Corral opened a while back and that the lines are still out the door.

The new location is at 12845 Main St. in Hesperia, in the Super Target center.

This is Golden Corral’s second foray into the I.E. since their restaurants in Riverside, Temecula and, apparently Hesperia as well, closed up decades ago.

Have you been to the new Hesperia location? Feel free to comment below.

Golden Corral to open in the High Desert

High Desert Dine 909ers, be prepared to loosen your belt a notch!

Buffet restaurant Golden Corral, which at one time had locations in Riverside and Temecula, is making another foray into the Inland Empire with a new location in Hesperia.

The new restaurant will be at 12845 Main Street, just west of the 15 and next to the Super Target.

Golden Corral will have some pretty tough competition with the excellent Wood Grill Buffet just down the street, but from what I’ve heard, Golden Corral is pretty good, too.

The restaurant is scheduled to open in early September.
