Share Italian with the Let’s Dine Out crew

Reservations are now being taken for the latest Let’s Dine Out Show Grub Club event.

Allen Borgen and crew will host diners at Domenico’s Italian Kitchen, 890 Oak Valley Parkway in Beaumont. The event is scheduled to take place from 4 to 7 p.m. March 8.

Participants will sample 14 different dishes, including four different pizzas. Cost is $42 per person, which includes tax, tip and a non-alcoholic beverage.

International Tamale Festival returns to Indio this weekend

It’s the first weekend in December, and that means it’s time for the Indio International Tamale Festival!

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today (December 6) and Sunday (December 7). It takes place in downtown Indio, between Highway 111 and Indio Boulevard, along Miles Avenue, Towne Street, Smurr Street and Requa Avenue.

Elephant Bar shuttering about a third of its locations

We knew that the San Bernardino Elephant Bar, 1050 E. Harriman Place, was closing, and have recently learned that it will close tomorrow (June 11). However, that’s not the end of the story. Dining Out for Life returns to the Palm Springs area tomorrow

The annual Dining Out for Life fundraiser for AIDS and HIV support services returns to the Palm Springs area tomorrow (April 24).

More than 40 restaurants are participating this year.

The concept is simple: All you have to do is dine out at any of the participating restaurants on that day. The restaurants donate a portion of your meal — anywhere from a generous 33% to a staggering 75%, depending on the restaurant — to a designated AIDS service organization.

In Palm Springs, that means Desert AIDS Project.

A new Juice It Up! has opened in La Quinta, and the location will be celebrating its grand opening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday (February 22).

The first 50 customers will receive a free small smoothie or raw juice blend, plus everyone will receive $1.05 off all smoothies and juices during the grand opening celebration.
