Native American foods part of Cal State San Bernardino celebration

Along with the traditional dancers, crafts and music at Cal State San Bernardino’s annual Native American Day celebration, there will be traditional native food.

The free, family-friendly event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow night (September 26) at the university’s lower commons, 5500 University Parkway, San Bernardino.

Free parking is available in lot D.

U of R’s Rah Rah Redlands to feature food trucks today

As in past years, food trucks will be part of the celebration that is Rah Rah Redlands.

The University of Redlands’ celebration of its first home football game is set for 3 to 7 p.m. today (September 20), with the game set to begin at 7 p.m.

Food trucks will serve beginning at 4 p.m.

Pomona’s The Brick Market and Deli is hosting a fundraiser for Project Sister Family Services , an organization that provides sexual assault and child abuse crisis prevention education and intervention programs, between 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. tomorrow (September 18).

Del Taco introduces Fresca Bowls

Del Taco Fresca BowlsDel Taco recently introduced three Fresca Bowls, each priced at $4.

The Pollo Asada Grilled Chicken Bowl includes lime rice, black beans, grilled chicken, pico de gallo salsa, onions and cilantro.

The Fire-Roasted Veggie Bowl includes lime rice, black beans, green chile sauce, pico de gallo salsa, onions, cilantro and fire-roasted corn, red and green bell peppers and poblano peppers.

Jersey Mike’s Subs now open in Menifee

The number of Inland Empire Jersey Mike’s Subs grew by one this week. The new location opened Wednesday (September 3) in Menifee.

The site is celebrating its grand opening with a fundraiser for Callie Kirkpatrick Elementary School.

A total of 7,000 coupons were distributed locally, offering a free regular sub with the purchase of a regular sub and a $2 or more donation to the school. The coupons are valid through Sunday.

The new Jersey Mike’s is at 27774 Newport Road.

Another food truck event coming to Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park Saturday

Food truck fans (and their canine companions) will want to head to Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park in Ontario tomorrow (September 6).

The county is hosting a Doggie Pool-ooza and food truck event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the park, 800 N. Archibald Ave.

It’s the park’s second food truck event in less than a month.

Corky’s Homestyle Kitchen & Bakery hosting cookie fundraiser

Corky'sSeptember is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, and Corky’s Homestyle Kitchen and Bakery has cooked up a sweet fundraiser.

Corky’s will donate $1 from each sale of its Gold Cancer Awareness Ribbon cookies this month to Loma Linda Children’s Hospital.

In addition, the restaurant will donate 25¢ from the sales of all other cookies.

Southern California McDonald’s offering free back-to-school breakfast Tuesday

McDonald's BreakfastBring the schoolkids to McDonald’s on Tuesday (September 9) for a free back-to-school breakfast.

Between 6:30 and 9:30 a.m., students in kindergarten through eighth grade can get a free breakfast sandwich, apple slices and low fat milk.

The offer is available at participating McDonald’s restaurants in San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties.

McDonald’s restaurants can be found throughout the Inland Empire.

Rancho Cucamonga Pieology celebrates one year, releases “Frozen” reinterpretation

The Rancho Cucamonga Pieology had its first anniversary yesterday (September 1), and the pizzeria celebrated by uploading a clever video reinterpretation of the song “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” from the movie “Frozen.”

If you want to visit the restaurant, it’s at 8158 Day Creek Blvd., Suite 120.

Don’t expect them to break into song, however.
