Big Bear Fall Wine Walk planned

Big Bear Lake Village Business Association Hosts Spring Wine Walk
WINES FROM AROUND THE WORLD An Afternoon of Shopping, Walking and Wine
Tasting

The Village Business Association (VBA) of Big Bear Lake hosts its annual Fall Wine
Walk on Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm in the downtown Big
Bear Lake Village shopping district. The merchant organized event will showcase fine
wines from around the world and the Village’s unique businesses, with a portion of the
proceeds to be donated to Doves of Big Bear Valley and Mountain Strings of Big Bear.

A Wine Walk is a creative social event that combines shopping and wine tasting as
attendees walk from merchant to merchant. The VBA Wine Walk is a growing social and
economically stimulating event, which showcases the Village as a shopping destination to
visitors and locals alike.

“The Wine Walk has grown into a fabulous event that we designed to feature merchants
here in the Village, but to also benefit all businesses and organizations in the valley.”
said Cheri Wilson, chair of the VBA Wine Walk and owner of Home Warehouse Design
Center, a participating store in the event. “The fall wine walk, featuring wines from
around the world, is a great opportunity to taste wines you might not have the chance to
taste.” The VBA is anticipating a sell out event of 700 people to enjoy an afternoon of
great wines, wonderful hors d’oeuvres, music and the mountain air and lake views.

The Wine Walk has become a popular event for the VBA and the merchants. With every
event, the list of participating merchants has grown and the event has drawn attendees
from as far away as Las Vegas, Nevada. Surpassing all seasonal and other events, the
Wine Walk has become the most successful event produced and hosted by the VBA in
terms of funds raised and donations.
Tickets for the VBA Wine Walk cost $30 if bought in advance and $35 the day of,
if any are available. Tickets can be purchased on line @ bigbearlakevillage.com and in
the Village at Home Warehouse Design Center, Hunter Hall’s, La Dolce Vita, The Shirt
Shanty, The Copper Q, and The UPS Store. The Wine Walk will begin at 3:30 and end
at 7:00 p.m., shortly followed by a raffle prize drawing for event attendees. Guest check-
in will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the Christmas tree lot on the corner of Pine Knot Avenue and
Village Drive.

Take a walk on the wine side

In one of the more unique fundraisers I’ve seen in a while, the Big Bear Lake Village Business Association will be hosting its second Wine Walk on from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday (July 24) in the downtown Big Bear Lake Village shopping district.

The event combines shopping and wine tasting as you stumble wander from store to store. Two great things that, um, go great together?

The association is expecting up to 500 locals and visitors to attend the fundraiser.
