Head to the San Dimas Philly’s Best today (February 5) to pick up any sandwich for just $5, and while you’re there (or at any Philly’s Best location), you can also save $7 off advance Circle K NHRA Winternationals ticket purchases (or save $5 off tickets at the raceway).

Philly’s Best celebrating nine years in San Dimas this weekend

Philly’s Best Cheesesteaks’ San Dimas location is celebrating its ninth anniversary this weekend.

In addition to $5 sandwiches and other $5 deals — plus giveaways — through Sunday (August 17), the shop is hosting a cheesesteak eating contest at 3 p.m. today.

Prospective contestants must call the store at 909-305-8811. The entry fee is $20, and all paid contestants will receive a special edition T-shirt.

The winner will receive a $100 Philly’s Best gift card, a trophy and a spot on the “Wall of Fame.”

Another Jersey Mike’s opening with a fundraiser

Hot on the heels of the Apple Valley Jersey Mike’s Subs opening, another new location is opening Wednesday (February 19) with a fundraiser.

The new San Dimas Jersey Mike’s Subs distributed 3,000 coupons good for a free regular sub with a minimum $1 donation. Proceeds will benefit Gladstone, Ekstrand, Shull and Allen Avenue elementary schools.

The fundraiser will last through Sunday (February 23).

The new Jersey Mike’s, 466 N. Lone Hill Ave., will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Claremont’s California Beer Festival returns…to San Dimas?

The California Beer Festival, which was held the first two years in Claremont, is returning Saturday, October 6, but with a change of venue.

This year’s event will be at Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park, 120 Via Verde, San Dimas.

The event boasts sampling from local and not-so-local breweries, plus food trucks and local restaurants.

The event will run from 12:30 to 5 p.m., with beer pouring from 1 to 4:45 p.m.

Tickets are $45 for general admission, $65 for V.I.P. (extra sampling from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., a souvenir pint glass and meal ticket) and $25 for designated drivers, which includes a meal ticket.

All tickets are available online here or at Eureka! Gourmet Burgers & Craft Beer in Claremont (580 W. First St.) and Redlands (345 W. Pearl Ave.).
