Ever since Steak ‘n Shake opened in Victorville a few years ago, we’ve been waiting for more locations here in the Inland Empire.
The chain has been ever so slowly opening locations here and there in Southern California.
A Santa Monica location opened in October 2014. A Burbank location followed at the end of last year. A location opened in Aliso Viejo on Monday.
Now finally, a Riverside location is set to open this summer.
Got a taste for tamales? Then Riverside’s White Park is the place to be today (April 16).
The fourth annual Riverside Tamale Festival is set for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Of course, there will be contests — for tamale eating, and for both professional and non-professional tamale makers — but the festival is much more than that.
If you’re thinking of going to the Inland Empire Salsa Festival — which takes place 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 14 at White Park in Riverside — today (April 12) is the day to buy tickets.
That’s because through the end of the day today, you can save up to 52% on tickets to the festival via a special Groupon deal.
Get ready to rise and shine, caffeinds!
That’s because the Inland Empire’s newest Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is open, and the location is celebrating with five days of deals and giveaways, beginning today (February 22).
Fear not, cupcake fans!
Although tasting tickets have sold out for today’s (October 4) Inland Empire Cupcake Fair & Baking Expo, you can still go.
General admission tickets — which do not include tasting tickets — will be available for $10 at the door, beginning at noon.
No tasting tickets will be sold at the event, but many vendors will be selling baked goods. Continue reading
Three events featuring food trucks are scheduled here in the Inland Empire this weekend.
The Santiago High School Sharkfest is scheduled from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. today (August 14). Eleven food trucks — including our friends from My Delight Cupcakery and Where’s the Fire Gourmet Pizza — are scheduled to participate in this free event.
The school is at 1395 E. Foothill Parkway, Corona.

Do you really love ice cream?
If you do, and you think you’ve got what it takes, good news: Qualifications have begun for Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour Restaurant’s sixth annual Splendiferously Superific Summer Spectacular Ice Cream Eating Challenge.
Whew…that’s a challenge just reading that.
To qualify, visit any Farrell’s between now and July 12 and pay a $20 entry fee. You’ll receive a limited-edition T-shirt, a $5 coupon for your next visit and a three-scoop sundae.
Then, wolf down that sundae as fast as you can.
Tomorrow (May 12) is Free Cone Day at Häagen-Dazs!
Stop by any participating location between 4 and 8 p.m. and you can get a free kiddie cone, just for the asking.
Pre-sale tickets are available for the inaugural Inland Empire Salsa Festival.
The event — scheduled for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 16 at White Park in Riverside — features salsa tasting and competition, a beer and wine garden, and live entertainment, including host Jordin Sparks, Baby Bash and A Lighter Shade of Brown.
If you’re interested in going, though, you might want to purchase your tickets this weekend.
You see, general admission tickets are available on the event’s website for $10 (plus $1.54 service fee). The site is also offering early bird discount tickets (through May 1) for just $8 (plus $1.43), a decent bargain. Kids 12 and under are admitted free.
The new Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Riverside Plaza (3540 Riverside Plaza Drive, Suite 314) is celebrating a three-day grand opening beginning at 11 a.m. this morning (November 6).
Today, the first 50 guests receive gift cards worth up to $50 and the next 100 guests will receive free meal vouchers.
